ARWUM Project Conducts Audiovisual Fieldwork in Tallinn
On 13 and 14 February, researcher Aleksandra Ianchenko, together with film director Carlos Lesmes and sound recordist Vincent Roy, conducted field recordings and audiovisual shoots in Tallinn as part of the ARWUM research project.
Despite the freezing temperatures, the team successfully captured a range of urban soundscapes and visuals — from trams crossing the city to the rhythmic sounds of sewing machines — contributing to the project’s exploration of women’s urban mobilities in Porto, Dublin and Tallinn.
The filming benefited from exceptional natural light and the generous collaboration of local stakeholders, who opened their premises to support the project’s development. The team extends its sincere thanks to Pent Paalberg and Tallinna Linnatransport, as well as to Eva Tarn, Tuuliki Peil and The New Life Studio for their invaluable support.
