In this first of three workshop series (others: May 2025 Bratislava and June 2025 Sofia) PhD candidates have the opportunity to learn transferrable skills on how to apply theory to the analysis of cultural texts (such as films, TV series, etc.) and learn from film professionals and artistic researchers how to apply complex thinking to creative practice.
The thematic focus of the first two-day workshop will be on nostalgia and migration, but do not worry about it if your work does not deal with these topics specifically as the main aim is to network and learn about ways to combine theory and practice. The workshop series provides a perfect springboard for applying to Novus call – a grant for artistic projects – and for presenting one’s artistic work at the 2026 ARE – Artistic research exhibition.
