The DOCTUS: Pathways of Contemporary Research series, an initiative under the WIRE by FilmEU project, has been fostering vibrant academic and artistic exchanges across Europe. The first workshop, held on March 26–27, 2025, at Tallinn University, Estonia, centered on the themes of nostalgia and migration. Participants engaged in discussions and activities that bridged theory and practice, enhancing their research perspectives.
Building on this momentum, the second workshop took place from May 14–16, 2025, at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. This session delved into archive, collective memory, and nostalgia, offering interdisciplinary approaches that combined film theory, media studies, and filmmaking practice. Attendees participated in lectures, screenings, and hands-on workshops, exploring how archival moving images shape public and private memory.
These workshops have not only provided valuable insights into contemporary research themes but have also strengthened the collaborative network among FilmEU partner institutions. Participants have expressed satisfaction with the enriching content and the meaningful connections established during these events.
