On October 4, FilmEU staff and academics Teet Teinemaa and Lies Van de Vijver represented FilmEU at a cross-alliance event, the Joint SwafS, focused on exploring the research and innovation aspects of the European University.
This important gathering brought together representatives from various European University Alliances to reflect on insights from the second generation of “Science with and for Society” (SwafS) projects and to discuss future directions.
The duo presented, 'Jointly Shaping an Artistic Research Agenda: Results from the FilmEU_RIT Pilot Projects' during the 'Joint R&I Strategies/Policies' panel.
Since its inception, FilmEU_RIT - Research, Innovation and Transformation has helped to build research capacity around artistic research for the future European University of Film and Media Arts.
The seed and seminal funding has helped to form new research groups - Dynamic Research Clusters - and engage a range of researchers at different career stages.
The findings also showed how joint supports came out of learning around the management of these projects, with each project using and reviewing a different method of tracking progress and keeping teams in contact – such as Microsoft Teams, Discord and Asana.
The Future Joint Research Office will also respond to any needs for support that came out of these projects while a new annual scholarly journal, Live Interfaces is also being published.
