Lusófona University hosted the WIRE Summit 2026

Between 13 and 16 April, Universidade Lusófona – Centro Universitário Lisboa hosted the WIRE Summit 2026. The event brought together researchers, lecturers and students from the FilmEU alliance to share methodologies and practices in the field of research based on artistic practice.

The summit began with the official opening of the ARE exhibition at the Beato Innovation District (Casa das Massas), where projects exploring the intersection between art and technology were presented. On campus, the Fernando Lopes Cinema hosted a keynote speech by Paul Seawright and several presentations on developments within WIRE, including the launch of the REASSESS Toolkit, a tool to support artistic research. 

Over the four days, PhD seminars and presentations of Horizon Mission Pilot projects took place, namely:

These sessions facilitated discussion on the impact of artistic research on higher education and the creative industries, focusing on the consolidation of a European scientific community.

Studio F hosted sessions dedicated to Virtual Production, where the integration of LED walls, Unreal Engine and camera tracking systems was discussed. In parallel, workshops were held on the role of metadata in film analysis and community-building activities for PhD candidates.
