FilmEU WIRE is pleased to announce that student pilots Agnes Meng and Diego Barajas will take part in the inaugural WIRE Hub pilot at the LUCA Spatial Computing Lab, building directly on their research projects Éclosion and Por Este Río Acima.
LUCA Spatial Computing Lab is a pioneering environment dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research in extended reality (XR) and spatial computing, combining technologies such as augmented and mixed reality, panoramic imaging, depth sensing, and immersive sound to foster experimental and participatory approaches to media art. Through this pilot, Meng and Barajas will showcase their artistic research exploring immersive media, real-time spatial interaction, and the integration of digital and physical environments.
The pilot programme is designed to explore how to effectively leverage the WIRE Hub’s capacity for research and innovation by integrating it with ongoing WIRE pilots, creating a dynamic framework for connecting individual research trajectories with collaborative, cross-institutional experimentation.
The participation of Meng and Barajas marks an important step in building a sustainable, research-driven ecosystem that bridges artistic experimentation with technological innovation under FilmEU WIRE.
