WIRE Collegium in LMTA

Fifth WIRE COLLEGIUM: Doctoral Supervision in Focus: Workshops and Dialogue dedicated to doctoral supervisors and participants in the doctoral studies process.

The event gathered 14 participants and 3 speakers/moderators. Only three participants were from non-Widening countries. The training featured distinguished speakers: Prof. Dr. Robin Andrew Nelson, who led a workshop on how and why Practice Research / Artistic Research has proliferated worldwide and the ways in which arts practices produce knowledge; Prof. Dr. Rachel Garfield, who conducted a session on navigating challenges in doctoral supervision; Prof. Dr. Claus Peder Pedersen, who further explored supervision challenges in practice-based doctoral research. Additionally, Dr. Martina Mullaney (IADT, Ireland) co-chaired the final open dialogue session on best practices in supervision alongside Prof. Garfield. This event significantly contributed to the Collegium objectives by strengthening research supervision practices, encouraging cross-institutional dialogue, and promoting the transfer of supervision experience, particularly within the artistic research domain.
