WIRE Project Launch: RULFF – Restoring Urban Landscapes with Family Films

RULFF is an exploratory project funded by WIRE. The official launch of the project is on October 2, at 10:00 local time, at Lusófona University, during the seminar, “Archiving the Audiovisual.”

This seminar brings together members of the film and television community to think critically about documenting and preserving family audiovisual archives.

The seminar aims to stimulate interest in the creative and social potential of family audiovisual archives. The participants will identify legal and ethical dilemmas that arise when family audiovisual archives are made accessible and ultimately consumed by the public.

Responsible practice and innovative use of family audiovisual archives can satisfy the public interest in stimulating new reflections and artistic outputs. This is particularly appropriate for materials that document and reflect the life and times of everyday people.
